First off, I love you. Brothers for life, I mean that that too. But here's a little of what I scribbled down the other day. It would already be a post if it weren't for the fact that blogger kept on crashing on me. Maybe it was God trying to tell me not to huh. But here it is anyway:
" 'Disgusting', is the first word that came to my mind. I don't, of didn't feel, for homosexuals in general, but reading this really pisses me off. I sincerely wonder why I'm getting so riled up about this religious bullshit that I normally just ignore. And no, I am not going through a gay phase, but only a breakup.
'And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely put to death; there blood shall be upon them.'
'Disappointing' was the next word that I thought of. Right now life seems to be getting a little harder. I can identify with the appeal of a set of rules, set in stone, laid out in black and white. Life is difficult enough as it is ain't it? Even with something showing you all of life's answers you need to get by. Besides you couldn't really trust yourself to makes out the difference between crooks and thieves. But they're not your answers, and never will be, until you stop and think about it without pride or prejudice. I find that with most believers of faith, they take for granted the amount of truth that book holds. So much so that when a dilemma arises, they twist this and turn that just so it can fit into the travel-sized version they carry around with them. They shape their thoughts according to this thing, never a serious moment of daring thought. Always conforming, always compromising, up till when they don't realize anymore. "
You do know why I think you're being judgmental in the first place right? To fault someone, to think they have sinned, just because they don't conform to your idea of wholesome, I think thats wrong. You can say 'I'm not judging!', but really, who are you trying to kid. Theres an implication behind everything thats done. Ya, read the below post about the KKK thing ya. Thats why I was so irritated with that group you were in, it just emphasized how differently out brains ticked.
How can you see eye to eye with me when the basic premises of your questioning only lie with your book of faiths. Considering that, I think it would be best to say that there was no basis for comparison.
Anyways this thing got more serious than I intended, sorry man. I'll take to a wine bar sometime, its cool.
