why can't people just acknowledge the fact that things just happen?

why must they link happenings to figures of divinity or evil just cause the can't explain it?
things happen as a result of themeselves..
you stand a little differently and bullets hit you in the balls
just take some fucking responsibility or credit and say
"yeah i made that happen"
